Disease: A viral liver infection spread through contaminated food and water.
Symptoms: Fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, jaundice
Vaccine: Hepatitis A Vaccine (Inactivated virus)
Dose Schedule:
- Primary dose: Single dose given intramuscularly at least 2 weeks before travel.
- Booster: A second dose 6-12 months after the first dose for long-term protection.
Side Effects: Soreness at injection site, headache, loss of appetite, fatigue.
Risks if Contracted: Acute liver failure, prolonged illness, especially dangerous for those with existing liver conditions.
